Tirtha Shani
awarded Security Officer of the Month

Tirtha Shani and Peter Smith

Tirtha Shani had only been employed with us for two days when he was nominated for Security Officer of the Month.

Tirtha was working on his second night shift at a commercial property in Thame where, little known to him, external auditors were on their way to try and breach the security operation.

During the silent hours Tirtha was approached at the main gate of the site by a person claiming to be a Gas Engineer requiring urgent access to the site. Tirtha was immeditatley suspicious and asked to inpsect his identification. Tirtha was still not convinced by this and proceeded to escalate the matter whilst restricting access to the site. After a few calls it was clear the Gas Engineer should not be allowed on site and Tirtha made him aware of this.

Whilst these actions are expected of Security Officers it is outstanding that on only his second shift Tirtha thwarted the attempts of external auditors attempting to gain unauthorised access to the site.
