Alarm Response
Have you ever received a call from your alarm company in the middle of the night due to your intruder alarm activating?
Who attends?
In many cases the responsibility of attending an out of hours intruder alarm activation rests with employees of the company.
Risk Management Services (Chiltern) Limited can provide 24-hour keyholding and response services providing a round the clock response to intruder alarm activations and eliminating the need for your employees to attend.
This service does away with the need for your own staff to be called out in the middle of the night to what may either be a false activation or a genuine incident requiring involvement of the Police or Emergency Services.
As soon as our Control Centre receive advice from the Alarm Receiving Centre of an activation an Officer from our Patrol & Response Team will be immediately dispatched to the premises conducting a thorough check of the building in an attempt to establish the cause. Should a break-in have occurred we will make arrangements for “boarding up” of windows and doors where necessary after liaising with the Police and the alarm company.
Before leaving the premises a detailed report will be left highlighting the times of attendance and the actions taken by our Officer whilst on site. In the event of serious incidents that may render the premises insecure, static guarding can be arranged ensuring that the property is secure at all times.
Due to the efficient methods adopted we are able to commence the service within 24-hours following receipt of:
• Keys and other means of access
• Alarm details and procedures
• Signed agreement
• Payment of annual retainer
Are You Aware of the Regulations?
The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) guidelines and revised
health and safety responsibilities are now forcing companies to
re-evaluate their keyholding arrangements. These new regulations make
it more difficult for you to expect staff to attend high risk call-outs.
A ‘Duty of Care’ places stringent requirements upon the employer to protect their employees.
The ACPO guidelines for Police attendance at alarm activations reduces
allowable false alarms to just two over a rolling 12-month period. After
this, Police response is withdrawn, and reinstated only when a secondary
verification system has been installed. Companies must have two keyholders
who can reach the premises within 20 minutes. A tall order for
many. Risk Management Services can take this burden from you. Our patrols react immediately to call-outs, protecting your business and staff from the unknown.
CCTV Activations
In addition to responding to alarm activations our Response Units can respond to confirmed activations from your CCTV system. If your system is monitored remotely, for example through our own Remote Monitoring Station, the Duty Controller carries out the same routine as with an alarm activation, immediately sending a Response Unit.
The added advantage of CCTV is the Duty Controller is able to notify the Response Officer of the cause of the activation should an intruder be identified.
Keyholder Escort
Service
We also offer a Keyholder Escort Service. This is similar to the Keyholding Service, but if an alarm is activated, one of our fully trained Officers will escort you or your designated keyholder around your premises.
Consider the benefits:
• Security Industry Authority (SIA) Approved Contractor
• Security Industry Authority (SIA) Licensed Personnel
